Dolly Parton Will Give $1,000 A Month To Families Who Lost Their Homes In Wildfires

After a straight day of rain, the wildfires that have been ravaging eastern Tennessee now seem to be contained. More than 14,000 people were evacuated from the city of Gatlinburg as the flames that ravaged 15,000 acres of land also killed seven and damaged or destroyed in the region of 700 buildings. 

As people start to return, they’ll have one less thing to worry about. Dolly Parton will be helping people back on their feet by donating $1,000 every month for six months to each family that lost their homes. 


The flames reached the doorsteps of Dollywood, but the park was spared and will reopen on Friday. Profits from her various businesses will be provided to those in need through her Dollywood Foundation’s My People Fund.
